Protean career är en av de nya karriärerna och en ny syn på karriär. Den bygger på att individen själv i hög grad styr över sin karriär och dennes utveckling och baserar denna främst utifrån sina värderingar. För att undersöka förekomsten av Protean career orientation och dennes eventuella samband med kompetensutveckling genomfördes en enkätundersökning på en arbetsplats som resulterade i 134 deltagare. Korrelations- och regressionsberäkningar utfördes på insamlad data. Resultaten visade att det fanns ett samband mellan Protean career orientation och kompetensutveckling och att det förstnämnda var en stark prediktor för kompetensutveckling.

ABSTRACT New in a foreign country ? the importance of civic orientationJessica Gerhardt & Hiba Sultan We have examined the information on parenting in Sweden that is given to new immigrants through civic orientation. The aim of the study was to investigate how new arrivals are being informed of Swedish laws and regulations relating to child rearing and corporal punishment. The study also aims to examine how a lack of information about raising children in civic orientation can affect newly arrived families. Our empirical work has been created by a focus group interview with the child and family unit on social services and a call interview with an SFI-teachers who teach newly arrived immigrants in civic orientation.

AIM: To investigate  newly graduated nurses opinions on their introduction and preceptorship at Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala. METHOD: A descriptive cross-sectional study using qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Data was collected by a questionnaire containing open and closed questions. Totally 42 participants took part in the study. Data analysis was obtained using descriptive statistics, thematic analysis and content analysis.

The purpose was to examine relations between motivation and goal orientation, perceived ability and perceived motivational climate among persons working out in gym. Another purpose was to study differences in motivation, perceived ability and motivational climate among men and women. The final purpose was to study interactional effects on the dependent variable motivation. The participants were 59 men and 69 women. The instruments used were Task and Ego Goal Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ), Harter´s Competence scale and part of Mahoneys R-5 test.

Det gör instrumentet till ett av de mest använda psykologiska testen i världen och det innebär att lika många människor får en etikett på sin personlighetstyp som kan användas på olika sätt. Det finns studier, till exempel av Carlyn, som talar för att MBTI är ett pålitligt instrument, men det finns också studier, till exempel av Pittenger, som hävdar motsatsen. James Michael menar att enbart MBTI ger en alltför inkomplett bild av en ledares beteende. Kanske är det klokt att komplettera MBTI med andra testinstrument för att få en komplettare bild av en individ. En modell som skulle kunna komplettera MBTI är motivationsteorin Self-Determination Theory, SDT, och tillhörande delteori General Causality Orientation, GCO.

The aim of this essay is to investigate the implementation of The Social Orientation inSweden. The Social Orientation is a part of the new, one year old, establishment law and isaimed at all newly arrived refugees and immigrants. The aim of the law is to help establish allnew arrivals into the Swedish society by providing knowledge about life in Sweden. Theeducational program is at least sixty hours long and covers: the public authorities in Sweden,laws and regulations, work and education, healthcare, children and family issues in a person?smother tongue.In order to achieve my aim I have chosen two questions: How has the law been implementedin Swedens three counties: Stockholm, Sörmland and Uppsala? What conditions are there fora successful implementation?In order to answer these questions I have used the traditional, ?street-level bureaucrats? andnetwork perspectives and issues for my study of implementation.

The intention of this study was to create an understanding of how multi-professional interaction could convert into inter-professional collaboration, which takes advantage of and acknowledges the individual professional identity. The intention was to understand the meaning of collaboration through the study of meetings between professionals who use different symbol systems. In particular, we wanted to study inter-professional interaction from a symbolic interactional perspective with a focus on Self, Identity, Symbols, Meaning and Professional community. The employed method was semi-structured interviews with ten questions. A convenience sample was used to identify working groups composed of different professions, such as teachers, social workers and therapy assistants.

The purpose of this study was to identify exerciser athlete?s motivational orientation, coping strategies used and stressors that primarily is perceived in gym training. The study also studied gender differences in relation to motivation orientation, coping strategies and stressors. A survey was conducted with a quantitative design. The study included 118 participants (43 women and 75 men) aged 18 - 42.

This article elucidates the professional dialogue between student teacher and supervisor and it´s conditions as a supervising method in professional academic education. The aim of the study is to discuss how students articulate the conditions of the professional dialogue and the positioning of themselves and supervisors are made. The student taped discussions were analysed. Inspired by positioning theory we analysed the students discussions in order to interpret and elevate patterns showing the conditions concerning the professional dialogues for the students teacher education. The main findings are the students positioning themselves as listener and the supervisor is positioned as communicator of rights, obligations and oughtness.

Groups that are often referred to as being dismissed in society in general is by some aspects also considered being so in political arenas. A recent compilation of existing research over structurally based objections of gaining power and positions within Swedish parliamentary politics highlight a lack of research considering whether sexual orientation could be such a discriminatory basis. Using a queer theoretical approach, and drawing on concepts such as heteronormativity and homophobia, the principal aim of this essay is to illuminate aspects of local parliamentary political areas where discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation become relevant. In order to do so six in-depth interviews with homosexual politicians have been conducted. Finding a queer potential in certain ideological parliamentary political environments that enable homosexual politicians to be open about their sexual orientation, it still relies upon the individual to be confident enough not to interpret the political context as homophobic and heteronormative..

När Sydafrika blev en demokrati 1994 gjordes utbildningssystemet om. En del i de storaförändringarna var att introducera Life Orientation, ett nytt ämne från och med 1998.Forskning har visat att införandet av ämnet inte varit friktionsfritt, vilket bland annat berott påatt ämnet varit nytt och det varit brist på lärare med relevant utbildning för att undervisa i LifeOrientation.Syftet med den studie som gjorts var att ta reda på hur lärare på en High School (årskurs 8-12)upplever idrottsämnets ställning är på deras skola, mot bakgrunden att ämnet integrerats i LifeOrientation som ett av sex delområden. En kvalitativ forskning har genomförts medsemistrukturerade interjuver som metod. The aim of this thesis is to study the effects of self-service on professional qualifications of library assistants in three public libraries in Sweden. The research questions are: - How do the library assistants experience that their professional qualifications have changed since self-service was introduced at the library? - Does the view on library assistants? professional qualifications and future differ between library managers and library assistants? - Does the view on library assistants? professional qualifications and future differ between the three different libraries? The method used is qualitative interviews with six library assistants and three head of libraries from three different public libraries. The theoretical framework for this study is constructed by theoretical ideas about professional qualifications and technology's impact on professionalism. The results indicate that the cognitive qualifications of library assistants have increased and social qualifications both increased and decreased.

The purpose of this study is to extend the understanding of how professionals in modern organisations want to be managed. We especially investigate professionals changing industries to describe if, and how, aprofessional in this situation is becoming a professional again after the change.
